Free AAC App
VoiceBridge is a free AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed to help individuals with Down syndrome, autism, and other speech challenges express themselves clearly and independently.
Open VoiceBridge and enter a name to create your profile. You'll see a short walkthrough explaining the main features. Tap any tile to start building a message.
Yes. VoiceBridge works completely offline. Your words, photos, favourites, and settings are stored on your device and never leave it.
Tap the + Add Word tile on the main screen. Type a word or phrase, choose an emoji, and optionally add a real photo from your camera roll.
Tap the profile orb top left → Settings → Caregiver → enter and confirm a 4-digit PIN. Once set, editing and settings require the PIN.
Locked learner mode hides settings and editing. Only communication tiles are visible. Turn it on in Settings → Caregiver after setting a PIN.
Settings → Profile → Manage Profiles. Up to 4 profiles, each with their own words, favourites, and settings. Perfect for families or classrooms sharing one device.
Settings → Profile → Export Backup. Creates a file you can save to iCloud or email to yourself. To restore, tap Import Backup and select the file.
Context-specific tile sets for Kitchen, Classroom, Restaurant, Car, and Bathroom. Tap the 🏫 icon next to the mode tabs to switch scenes.
Tap the ⭐ star on any option to save it. Find all saved phrases in the Favourites tab at the bottom.

VoiceBridge does not collect, store, or share any personal data. All information including names, custom words, photos, and settings is stored locally on your device and never transmitted anywhere. The app does not use analytics, advertising, or any third-party tracking services.
VoiceBridge was created by Brandon Montford, a computer science student at Concordia University Chicago, for his brother with Down syndrome. It is free and always will be.
